Christine McNicol
OWNER, MANAGING DIRECTOR
CERTIFIED ADDICTIONS COUNSELLOR
BA (Soc), SSW, CADC
Christine McNicol is the Owner and Managing Director of Recovery Counselling Services and a Certified Addictions Counsellor with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals and families impacted by addiction, trauma, and mental health challenges.
She brings together formal clinical training and lived experience of addiction and recovery, offering both professional expertise and authentic understanding. Christine recognizes that addiction affects the entire family system — partners, parents, and children — and that meaningful healing requires care that honours each person’s individual journey.
Her approach is compassionate, steady, and grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed practice. Christine integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and parts-based/inner child work to help clients move beyond patterns rooted in shame and survival. She supports emotional regulation, healthy boundaries, and renewed connection — both within oneself and in relationships.
Since joining Recovery Counselling Services in 2018, Christine has played a central role in evolving the practice’s culture and model of care. Under her leadership, the clinic continues to prioritize warmth, ethical practice, and collaborative support. She maintains strong relationships with trusted treatment centres and community partners across Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, the UK, and Europe to ensure thoughtful coordination and continuity throughout every stage of recovery.
